Due to the preparation for the Ironman World Championship in Nice, significant traffic disruptions are expected. Here is a summary of the main restrictions that will affect traffic this Sunday.
DOWNTOWN NICE
Road Closures:
- Thursday from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM: Closure of Rauba Capeu and États-Unis quays between Place Guynemer and Rue Sulzer. Vehicles will be able to travel towards the Promenade des Anglais until 2:45 PM.
- Thursday from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM: Closure of Rue des Ponchettes at Place du 8 Mai. Afterward, traffic will be allowed towards Place Guynemer.
- Thursday from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM: Closure of Place Masséna and Rue Alexandre Mari.
- From Saturday, September 21 (8:00 PM) to Monday, September 23 (5:00 AM): Closure of the Promenade des Anglais (north roadway), Avenue de Verdun, and several adjacent streets.
- Sunday, September 22 (12:01 AM) to Monday, September 23 (5:00 AM): Closure of Rue Gustave V, Rauba Capeu and États-Unis quays, Avenue Max Gallo, and several other axes in Old Nice.
WEST OF NICE – PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS
Road Closures:
- Sunday, September 22 (2:00 AM) to Monday, September 23 (3:00 AM): Closure of the Promenade des Anglais (south and north roadways), Magnan Tunnel, and Carras Port.
- Sunday, September 22 (5:00 AM to 7:30 PM): Closure of access to the Promenade des Anglais between Pont Napoléon III and Avenue des Grenouillères.
Restrictions: Access to the airport is only via the M6007 and M99 roads, with priority given to tram line 2.
OLD NICE
- Sunday, September 22 (12:01 AM) to Monday, September 23 (5:00 AM): Access via Descente Crotti and exit via Descente Auguste Escoffier.
BIKE LANES
- From Saturday, September 21 (8:00 PM) to Monday, September 23 (6:00 AM): Closure of bike lanes on Avenue de Verdun and Promenade des Anglais for the races.
- Sunday, September 22 (6:00 AM to 2:00 AM): The bike lane on the Promenade des Anglais will be used for the running event between Carras and Terminal 1 of the airport.
NO PARKING
- From Saturday, September 21 (5:00 PM) to Monday, September 23 (5:00 AM): No parking on the Promenade des Anglais (north and south roadways), Avenue de Verdun, Carras Port, and several other axes.
Closed Parking Lots:
- Parking Sulzer: Closed from Sunday, September 22 (12:01 AM) to Monday, September 23 (5:00 AM).
- Parking Ruhl Méridien: Access only via Avenue de Suède during this period.
