Is the real problem choosing between a mosque and a daycare?

Latest News

It is quite evident that this opposition of mosque/nursery is not just a fictitious pretext: in fact, why one and not the other, and not both?

Those who oppose it are, on one hand, a demand to practice one’s own faith under optimal conditions, and on the other, the legitimate interests of a mayor who has a large proportion of his electorate tinted with Islamophobia.

In this regard, there is and cannot be any possible compromise between the reasons of law (Prefect) and those of politics (Christian Estrosi).

We must look elsewhere, as reminded by municipal and metropolitan councilor (DVD) Gaël Nofri: “The truth is that today our laws, our value system, and our State-Religions relationships do not allow us to handle such matters as they should be. The Law of 1905 and the notion of Secularism were conceived at times when the question of Islam in France did not arise.

If we want to end this context which serves neither public communities nor Muslims of France, we must move towards a new definition of the relationship between the Muslim Faith and the French State… a Concordat for the 21st century is needed.”

Who in the current context, in which the Arab/Muslim/terrorist amalgam has overshadowed the analysis of facts positioned in their context, will have the courage to tackle this problem starting from the right end?
