Isabelle Prêcheur awarded for Protibis®, the cake to combat malnutrition in patients and the elderly, including those with Alzheimer’s.


protibis.jpg At the opening of the Entrepreneur Fair, Professor Isabelle Prêcheur received the 2012 Master Award for Business Creation. This diploma, which honors the best entrepreneurs of the year, was awarded to her for the creation of Solidages, a company that develops patents stemming from clinical research at the University Hospital of Nice.

The Protibis® cakes aid in the nutrition of Alzheimer’s patients

The first product already on the market, Protibis, arising from public research, is a high-protein cake to combat malnutrition in patients and the elderly.

Several studies in geriatric wards have confirmed the benefits of this innovative product in restoring weight and appetite to Alzheimer’s patients, while simplifying the work of caregivers and healthcare providers. Alzheimer’s disease, a major national concern, benefits from this new food product which is now available in hospitals, nursing homes, and pharmacies for people at home.

Solidages is a start-up resulting from research at the Nice hospital and university, awarded 9 times since its creation.
