Israel needs the support of “soldier” Estrosi?

Latest News

A resolution calling for the halt of Israeli settlement was adopted by the UN Security Council after the United States abstained.

In the aftermath, Christian Estrosi, president of the Paca region, announced:

“Departure for #Israel where I will show my support to @netanyahu following the dangerous UN decision that attacks the only democracy in the region.”

It is unnecessary to remind that Israel and its democracy are in no way endangered by this resolution.

Christian Estrosi holds no diplomatic position and, in this case, is simply indulging in the narcissistic worship of individual performance.

But, as there is never smoke without fire, how can we ignore his nod to the large and powerful Jewish community in the Nice region?

The presidential and legislative elections are not that far off, and this could very well explain the situation, much more than other sophisticated analyses.

In fact, the text voted by the UN Security Council asks Israel, for the first time since 1980, to cease illegal settlement in the Palestinian Territories and East Jerusalem.

About 385,000 Israeli settlers live there, whereas in 1980 there were only 12,500. Regarding East Jerusalem, over 200,000 are settled in this Palestinian part of the holy city that Israel has occupied since 1967 and annexed since 1980.

It would be interesting to know Christian Estrosi’s thoughts on Israel’s policy regarding the occupation of Palestinian territories in the West Bank and East Jerusalem;

Moreover, it is assumed that he must also be aware of UN Resolution 242 of 1967 concerning the withdrawal from occupied territories, which Israel has never implemented, as well as the so-called Oslo Accords of 1993, whose conclusive outcome remained unfulfilled.
