Three Days of Concerts with Over 1400 Musicians
Oil drums, drum kits, congas, and other keyboard percussion instruments will be featured at this festival.
Musicians of all kinds will take turns performing shows that are as astonishing as they are varied.
Three Days to Discover the Thousand Facets of an Instrument and the Joy of Playing
Introduction to percussion, artist creations, sound wall, interactive workshops, film exhibitions, conferences, master classes, batucada, street parades…
Highlights of these 3 Days:
– A sound wall at the Grand Jardin on May 25 where artists will perform.
– A “West Side Story” concert by Percussions Claviers de Lyon – Friday, May 26, 2006 – 8:30 PM – Falcoz hall (Public rates: €12 – CE: €9.50)
– “1000 drumming children” on May 25
A striking musical gathering with the unusual goal of having over 1000 children from the Vence Conservatory and local schools play on percussion instruments made by themselves from wood, cardboard, and tin cans.

Thursday, May 25
– 9 AM – 12 PM Master Class by the group “Pan à Paname”
– 2 PM Batucada, parade, mini-concert in the streets of Vence
– 2:30 PM Drum barrel concerts, Afro-Cuban percussion, digital percussion, sound wall, at Grand Jardin.
– 4:30 PM Musical tour in the Historic City
– 9 PM Concerts, Grand Jardin
– Zarb class from the National Conservatory of the Nice Region
– “Pan à Paname” following the lineage of Trinidad’s Steel Band
– Cocktail in the presence of the artists, Chapel of the White Penitents
Friday, May 26
– 10 AM School animations by “Kerala Percussions”, J. Falcoz Hall
– 2:30 PM Concert “Thousand drumming children”, Grand Jardin
– 4 PM Discovery workshops: marimbas, vibraphones, djembe, congas, drum set open to all, Conservatory, Media library, Cultural center, Youth space
– 8:30 PM West Side Story by Percussions Claviers de Lyon, J. Falcoz Hall
– Ensemble consisting of students from the Conservatories and music schools of the Alpes-Maritimes Department and musicians from the “Percussions Claviers Ensemble” of Lyon in a work by Gershwin
– Laon Conservatory percussion class
– Cocktail in the presence of the artists, Chapel of the White Penitents
Saturday, May 27
– 9:30 AM – 12 PM Master class by Percussions Claviers de Lyon, J. Falcoz Hall and Discovery Workshops.
– 1 PM – 7 PM Concerts by the percussion classes of the Conservatories and music schools of the Alpes-Maritimes, J. Falcoz Hall
– 8:30 PM Concerts, Falcoz Hall
– Percussion class of the Vence Conservatory
– “Kerala Percussions Ensemble” consisting of professional musicians from the Alpes-Maritimes Department.
