The 2012 edition of the Italian Cinema Days at Espace Magnan highlights the emerging production of transalpine cinema, with its core focus on films that question and analyze the evolution of the city, its internal movements, whether visible or more “underground.”

The 2012 edition of the Italian Cinema Days at Espace Magnan highlights the emerging production of transalpine cinema, with its core focus on films that question and analyze the evolution of the city, its internal movements, whether visible or more “underground.”
On the program, the 2nd Competition session with the Garibaldi Award and the Audience Award, notable guests (directors, actors, …), fiction films, social comedies or lighter ones, documentaries, which as always reflect societal contradictions and concerns.
A focus on the heritage centered on the great Gian Maria Volonté, with one of the major films in his filmography, Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion by Elio Petri, supported by the intervention of Daniel Rocchia, film critic; but also a documentary rich with many new testimonies about the man he was (Investigation of a Citizen Named Volonté by Andrea Bettinetti); and a photo exhibition of his films.
Spotlight also on the Piedmontese film production, with an evening dedicated to the Piemonte Movie Association, and the screening of three of its documentary films.
Indeed, for the cities of Moncalieri and Turin, it has been a remarkable cultural showcase for ten years, with particular attention to Piedmontese cinema, through the promotion of production and dissemination.
The selection of the latest film by Ermanno Olmi, Rupi del Vino, in favor of the listing of local vineyards as a UNESCO World Heritage site, will also allow Espace Magnan, in partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce, to highlight this strong component of the Italian local culture: wine production.
With the presence of winemakers from Piedmont, and a convivial tasting of regional wines.
