From November 21 to 27, the Consulate General of Italy in Nice is participating in the initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, aiming to highlight Italian culinary tradition abroad.
The theme was successfully developed during Expo Milan 2015 and will feature a series of events such as conferences, tastings, etc.
This Monday at 6:00 PM, Consul General Raffaele De Benedictis will officially inaugurate the event at the Garibaldi Theater of the Consulate General.
Following the inauguration, there will be a screening of the film “Il Cibo Italiano in 100 Films di Cinema Italiano,” a retrospective from the 1940s to the present day.
On Wednesday, November 23, at 6:00 PM, there will be a tribute to Tuscan cuisine by Marco Michelassi, owner of “La Florentine Bistrot” in Nice. The evening will include a screening of the film “21 Chefs rispondono a tre domande sulla Cucina Italiana” and will conclude with a tasting of a Florentine menu.
On Friday, November 25, at 5:30 PM, there will be a tribute to Piedmontese cuisine by Chef Patrizia Rotondi, owner of “La Petite Table” in Nice, who will offer a tasting of “Bunet,” a typical cake from the Piedmont region.
Writer Caterina Reviglio Sonnino, organizer of receptions and author of the book โMadame est servieโ โ winner of the Gourmand Cookbook Award 2013 โ will speak about โThe Art of Hospitalityโ and will present a festive table setting.
Next Sunday, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the closing evening of the First Week of Italian Cuisine will be held with an aperitif offered by the restaurant โLa Milanesinaโ at 2 Rue Dalpozzo.
