All lovers of Italy, the many Italian nationals who have chosen to reside in the Nice region, and the even more numerous locals whose families originate from the peninsula will certainly be delighted to rediscover the flavors of Italy on the occasion of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, which takes place from October 16 to 22 in Italy and abroad and is organized in Nice by the Consulate General of Italy.
The theme of this edition is Italian cinema, highlighting the connection between the Italian language and cinema, which, thanks to the success of films or artists, has certainly contributed to the spread of Italy from a linguistic point of view.
The week will be rich in events, starting this Monday with the opening at CUM for the preview of “Polvere di stelle” by artist Mauro Maugliani, who, through his paintings, will unveil the magical world of the seventh art, with portraits of actors who have made Italian cinema renowned.
The week’s closure will take place at the Garibaldi theater (at the Italian Consulate, boulevard Gambetta), with a concert by the quartet Artensemble dedicated to the melodies of the most famous films.
Other initiatives are planned: Coalcit, in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, is organizing a training session for Italian teachers of the Nice academy (this Monday at the Parc Impรฉrial mixed school).
On Wednesday (at the Garibaldi theater), Ms. Manuela Bertone, professor at UNS, will discuss with Consul General Raffaele De Benedictis the figure and work of Luigi Pirandello (Nobel Prize in Literature) on the anniversary of the 150th year of his birth.
The next day, still at the Garibaldi theater, a debate led by Sabino Falasciano, head of the school service at the consulate, with the participation of representatives from Espace Magnan, Rialto cinema, and Cinรฉalma festival of Carros, will address the issue of the distribution of Italian cinema in the region.
In conclusion, a rich and varied program is sure to interest the Nice public.
