Italy, which had re-entered lockdown on March 15th, is taking the gamble of reopening a large part of its territory in the yellow zone. A designation that allows cinemas and theaters to reopen and restaurants to serve outdoors.

This is a kind of transition period to observe the evolution of the epidemic before new easing measures start from June 1st. If Liguria and Piedmont remain in yellow, restaurants will then also be able to serve indoors from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

However, the border remains closed even for border residents. A valid reason is required to cross the border (health, work, transit, etc.).


This reopening also applies to cultural venues: theaters, concert halls, cinemas. However, conditions have been imposed: reserved seating, a distance of one meter to be maintained between each spectator, an audience limit not exceeding 50% of venue capacity and a maximum of 1,000 spectators outdoors and 500 indoors.

Nightclubs remain closed. Beyond June 1st, if the health situation allows, some sports competitions may resume with limitations on participants and spectators. As for spas and amusement parks, they will have to wait until July 1st.
