Yesterday morning, rue de l’Opéra was renamed rue Jacques Médecin.
Despite the controversies, Christian Estrosi publicly assumed this decision: “Jacques Médecin was a reflection of the people of Nice, he was free, and he wanted Nice to remain free from any control, be it conformism or political parties.”
The opposition does not share this opinion and labels the former politician a “repeat offender” due to his four convictions!
“When will we stop celebrating clientelism and corruption in Nice?” ask the Nice communists and the activists of the association Tous citoyens.
For them, “naming a street after Jacques Médecin means honoring both corruption and racism. It is both a lack of civic-mindedness and a lack of ethics.”
For the RN municipal candidate Philippe Vardon, it is simply an electoral maneuver.
