“On the occasion of the broadcast on April 18, 2013, at 7:50 am on France Inter, Christian Estrosi accused me several times…” said Jacques Peyrat, former mayor of Nice (1995 to 2008) and currently president of the Republican Agreement.

peyrat-10.jpg “He claimed that I was a member of the National Front, which is a lie since I left this movement before becoming the Mayor of Nice in 1995. He also stated that upon his arrival at the Nice Town Hall in 2008, he inherited 40 unsanitary Muslim places of worship under the tutelage of foreign imams who did not speak French, which is completely false. just as he claimed that during my terms as Mayor from 1995 to 2008, the streets of Nice were overwhelmed by street prayers, which is utterly false.”

The former Mayor of Nice thus wishes to restore โ€˜hisโ€™ truth regarding accusations he suspects of being for more electoral purposes.

“All these false claims are unacceptable from a man who has created 18 Muslim places of worship in Nice since 2008, which rightfully raises concerns among many people of Nice. Finally, it is inadmissible that Christian Estrosi uses lies as an electoral tactic on the eve of the municipal campaign to misinform the people of Nice, who are increasingly aware of the quality of my record compared to that of my successor, and are wishing for a change in 2014.”

Although there was little doubt, the campaign for the next municipal elections is indeed underway, and the first salvos are already of considerable caliber.
