“The penitentiary in Nice is very outdated, remaining the only dark spot in the prison system of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region since many facilities there have been rehabilitated and others created (Avignon, Toulon,…).
Closer to Nice, the Grasse prison is a completely satisfactory establishment, both in terms of geographic location and operation.” Jacques Peyrat thus advocates, as it is his profession, for his city and his neighborhood in order to “harmonize penal policy in the region.”
