Jagwa, ephemeral tattoos in Nice

Latest News

Jagwa, 100% natural ink based on fruit.

It’s also the name of a small temporary tattoo business, managed by three young artists, located at 11 passage Emile Nรฉgrin in Nice.

The business opened its doors in 2012. It allows people who want to get a temporary tattoo to come and relax with music while getting tattooed, all in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Everything begins in the Amazon

Imagine yourself in South America, in the heart of the Amazon, dominated by the rainforest. The Native Americans use this sacred fruit, the “jagua,” in festivals and weddings with a cultural aspect, as it is not just used as food.

Jagua is mainly used for making traditional tattoos and, if any is left, the Native Americans can make drinks or jam out of it.

Jagua has a very ancient cultural aspect. It is primarily used for tattooing, much like the oriental culture with henna.

A tradition that these three young entrepreneurs inherited during their journey on Native American lands.

Subsequently, the Jagwa company had the idea to bridge their traditional culture and our modern culture.
Native American designs, calligraphy, and any other art can be reproduced by these artists.

An ephemeral art

The Jagua tattoo oxidizes the superficial epidermis, meaning that after making your designs on your skin, the tattoo changes color.

During the day, after drying the tattoo and letting it rest for two hours in the open air, you just need to wash it gently with lukewarm water until the tattoo disappears.

But this is completely normal, as the next day the tattoo will be a dark blue color for 1 to 3 weeks and then fade naturally.

It is a traditional and ancient art reimagined according to the client’s shapes and desires. All creative and artistic expressions are possible.
