This Friday, November 4th marked the end of Jammin’Juan in their 5th edition. A Jazz Festival that delivered many surprises. A look back at this fantastic conclusion.
Wajdi Riahi Trio
This trio of talented musicians opened the day with a very refined appetizer. With his piano solos, Wajdi Riahi reveals his exceptional technique accompanied by his two colleagues on double bass and drums. A first showcase that delighted us.
Ernesto Montenegro Quintet
Ernesto Montenegro, a trumpeter and Canarian composer, delivered a high-level performance with his quintet. Sounds reminiscent of the golden age of jazz, with dialogues between various instruments responding musically to each other. A showcase that resonated with jazz enthusiasts.
DAÏDA
The French group transported us to lands haunted by mythological creatures through a musical journey. Blending lyrical harmonies with tech trance, DAÏDA delivered performances that were both tormented and poetic. An absolutely riveting discovery, and we thank the musicians for their epic offering.
Monsieur Mâlâ
A group of musicians who captivated us with the originality of their music. Transcending boundaries between jazz, pop, world, or urban music, Monsieur Mâlâ surprises us at every moment with this swirling mix of sounds. A group to watch closely for their future musical creations.
Martin Salemi Trio
After two energetic showcases, it was time to ease the tension. Martin Salemi and his trio performed luminous and soaring music, between ballads and syncopated grooves. A dreamy and stellar interlude that enchanted us with delight.
Tal Gamlieli Trio
Tal Gamlieli, a remarkable jazz bassist, concluded with his trio in an emotional performance. With melodies tinged with melancholy and nostalgia, the trio touched our hearts. We couldn’t have wished for a better end to these showcases.
Conclusion
And finally, to conclude, we were treated to a final concert by Espen Berg “Water Fabric”, followed by a final aftershow with Ishkero.
The Jammin’Juan has ended for this year, unfortunately. We look forward to seeing them again next year for a new edition, with even more beautiful surprises in the name of music and jazz.
