From November 2 to 4, Jammin’ Juan returns to the Antipolis Conference Center in Antibes. This first day sets the tone, and let’s just say we are not disappointed.
Louis Matute Large Ensemble
This first showcase immersed us in captivating South American melodies. Louis Matute and his group performed a selection of tracks from their latest album, Our Folklore, released last March.
Mélanie Dahan Quintet
Mélanie Dahan, accompanied by her quintet, enchanted us with her angelic voice. Enchanting and poetic songs made us feel like our heads were in the clouds. The artists performed tracks from their latest album, released in 2020, called Le Chant des Possibles.
CHI Quartet
Tin Chi Siu and his quartet invited us on a journey. A journey through misty forests filled with mystery. The group cleverly mixes melodies between modern jazz grooves and a dreamy classical style. They offered us tracks from their album Unspoken. A true delight for the ears.
3 in a Box
In a more vibrant style, here is Pascal Blanc and his group with numerous influences. Blending jazz, pop, rock, or electro, the group offers airy and nebulous music, with an urban groove feel. An absolutely wonderful dreamlike interlude.
Fanou Torracinta
Corsican guitarist Fanou Torracinta and his group performed a part of their album, Gipsy Guitar from Corsica, Vol.1. Rhythmic and catchy melodies with a beautiful touch of vintage swing. These melodies, with impressive acoustic guitar solos, delighted our attentive ears.
Sanne Sanne
For this last showcase, we were treated to a magnificent conclusion. The group of Sanne Sanne performed tracks from their upcoming album, which should be released next year. These songs, with absolutely stunning sung parts, made us soar above stratospheric mountains. A surprising group that makes us want to hear more.
Conclusion
The evening ended with a concert by the group Thomas de Pourquery & Supersonic, followed by an aftershow with Second Brain.
A day full of emotions, with these artists of multiple talents. One thing is certain, we are eagerly awaiting the continuation of this exceptional event.
