Japan: Princess Akiko of Mikasa arrives in Nice

Member of the Japanese Imperial family, Akiko of Mikasa has just landed in Nice as part of the Rugby World Cup currently taking place in France.

From September 14th to 17th, the Princess will participate in several events, including a scheduled visit to the Matisse Museum along with Christian Estrosi before concluding her journey at the Allianz Riviera to support the Brave Blossoms this Sunday. Facing England, the Japanese team will attempt to secure a second consecutive victory after their (42-12) win against Chile at the Stadium in Toulouse last week.

In the meantime, the French team can be seen this evening at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve d’Ascq (Lille) as they face Uruguay and strive to continue their strong performance after their victory against the All Blacks. Attention all Rugby fans: the city of Nice has recently established a fan zone near Place Massรฉna (Albert 1st garden). Entry is free and there will be food and various activities to fully enjoy the matches broadcast on giant screens!

A Welcome Ceremony at Villa Massรฉna

On Sunday afternoon, the Japanese delegation will gather at Villa Massรฉna to participate in a ceremony in the presence of the Japanese community residing in the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis. This event will bring together around sixty guests and will feature a speech by Christian Estrosi, followed by an address by Princess Akiko of Mikasa.
