After having presented the Milevska Trio in Contes last spring, the association Jazzic Zac is organizing its first festival: “Jazzic Zac’oaraze.”
After exploring the high realms with Christian Mariotto and Jean-Marc Baccarini, singing and saving the forest with Jus d’Orange, you’ll move with the “Soul Jazz” spirit of the Jazzic Zac Gang.
8:30 PM Christian Mariotto and Jean-Marc Baccarini
“Tribute to John Coltrane and Rashied Ali”
Within the guitarist Philippe Canovas’s quintet – with whom they still share the stage of the trio Tu Danses? – Jean-Marc Baccarini and Christian Mariotto have built a strong human and musical relationship.
In 2007 and 2009, aside from their repertoire, this same trio, augmented by a pianist and a double bassist, pays a vibrant tribute to the music of John Coltrane, an endless source of inspiration to which they constantly return to draw from.
It is therefore most naturally that today, the two musicians make a new tribute to the music of this genius. The idea is to make people re-hear, in the lineage of the duo that John Coltrane formed with drummer Rashied Ali, some of the many compositions he wrote in the last years of his life.
Extremely committed, sensitive, and spiritual, Coltrane’s music is a pinnacle that Jean-Marc Baccarini and Christian Mariotto salute with humility like two mountaineers before climbing a dangerous slope, delighted at the idea of sharing this experience with the audience.
Also note the release of the second disc of the trio Tu Danses?, called “Autres directions.”
9:45 PM Jus d’Orange
What to expect with a name like that… juicy music? Sparkling? Sweet? Assertive? Energizing? The pop and French song of Jus d’Orange is all of the above.
When the association Jazzic Zac asked Noël Delfin to perform in Coaraze with his group Jus d’Orange, Noël Delfin accepted, honored and moved, to share the stage with Jean-Marc Baccarini and Christian Mariotto.
Noël Delfin: lead vocals and guitar, Jean Marchal: drums, backing vocals, Patrice Taboni: bass, backing vocals
