This Thursday at 7 PM, as part of the “off” Nice Jazz Festival, La COMPAGNIE SO WHAT will perform as a quintet in this former aristocratic palace of Nice dating back to the first half of the 17th century, now a museum of ancient musical instruments. But wasn’t baroque already a music of improvisation?
La Compagnie So What has been practicing a written and improvised 21st-century jazz music for twenty years: a joyous music of listening and respect among musicians.
The result: written melodies and joyful improvisations, music imagined for the audience and the stage. Compositions and revisited standards by a Company of variable dimension, from quartet to septet.
