Jazz Strolls Through the Municipalities of the Metropolis

Latest News

Given the success of last year, jazz will once again take over the towns of the Metropolis so that the music can resonate between sea and mountains.

jazz_alpes_orchestra.jpg Until August 25, 2013, there will be roaming and on-stage concerts in 14 towns in the Metropolis, in the pure spirit of the Nice Jazz Festival, from Sidney Bechet to Louis Armstrong, and including Kool and The Gang, with the Jazz Alpes Orchestra.

The Jazz Alpes Orchestra is a band of accomplished musicians from the Côte d’Azur who share a common passion for jazz and its global variations.

The 10 musicians who make up the group master numerous instruments from the Louisiana brass bands such as the banjo, sousaphone, alto and tenor saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and percussion…

The repertoire of the Jazz Alpes Orchestra covers the history of jazz, from its traditional roots (featuring the most beautiful New Orleans standards) to the most festive funk, with forays into the Romani music of the Balkans, akin to the films of Emir Kusturica. All of this is delivered in a spirit that exudes joy and good humor.

In the form of a brass band, the Jazz Alpes Orchestra will take to the streets of the towns to reach stages and public squares, ensuring concerts that will delight both young and old.
