Christian Estrosi announced that he would file a defamation complaint against all those who “spread false information about the city’s finances.”
However, Anne Boquet, the director general of the city’s services, has just stated that “regarding the city of Nice, it is appropriate to refer to the indisputable elements of the budgetary documents” which “show the absence of an increase in tax rates for the sixth consecutive year.”
For Jean-Christophe Picard: “This statement is completely false since, on February 13, 2009, the Nice city council voted for a 14.8% increase in the rate of the housing tax, the tax on built property, and the tax on unbuilt property.”
Therefore, it would be logical for the mayor of Nice to sue his own director general of services who is evidently spreading “false information about the city’s finances!”
