From July 8 to October 16, 2011 in Biot – Tourist Office
This summer, the City of Biot is honoring the great Glass Master Jean-Claude Novaro.
More than 50 works by the artist, accompanied by documents, will trace his exceptional career.
Unique, unusual, lively, and original pieces, straight from his imagination, will highlight the Novaro style.
These are as much technical and aesthetic feats as what the artist has been pursuing for over 50 years in his daily artistic practice.
This glass explorer wanted to associate his glassblower friends, Robert and Antoine Pierini, Nicolas Laty, and La Verrerie de Biot with this retrospective, recognizing in them the spark inherent to glass dreamers.
An ambitious project has called Jean-Claude Novaro to Ras al Khaimah, one of the United Arab Emirates,
to continue developing his research and share his exemplary artistic experience within the framework of creating a Glass School. Biot, a land of imagination, is a source of inspiration beyond seas and borders.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 7 PM, at the Biot Tourist Office.
