The Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Regional Chamber of Trades and Crafts is a public institution responsible for representing and developing trades and crafts at the regional level.
The Union Professionnelle Artisanale (UPA) list won the internal election to lead the institution for the next five years.
The 96 elected members (16 representatives per department) of the regional General Assembly unanimously elected Jean-Pierre Galvez* as the President of the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Regional Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
This 63-year-old from Nice, a hairdresser, succeeds Andrรฉ Bendano, who had been at the helm of the institution since 2010.
Jean-Pierre Galvez will be supported in this task by a Board composed of 17 other members, including the Presidents of the six Territorial Delegations of the CMAR.
“We are going to place the CMAR PACA at the heart of the economic activity of the territory,” stated Jean-Pierre Galvez. “To this end, I have identified four major axes: the economy, proximity to craft businesses, initial and ongoing training, and finally, solidarity. We will work in partnership with the professional organizations representing the Artisanat.”
The 96 elected representatives, 35% of whom are women, who make up the regional assembly, come from the construction sector (29%), services (25%), manufacturing (20%), and food (26%). From this year, the arts and crafts professions are also represented with 13 elected officials, encompassing all families.
