Jeanick Brisswalter, 60 years old, was elected President of Université Côte d’Azur this Thursday by the board of directors. He becomes the first President of the new Université Côte d’Azur, an experimental institution that replaces the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the Community of Universities and Establishments (ComUE). This creation marks a decisive step in building an integrated university recognized internationally, with intensive research, contributing to the growth dynamics of its territory.

His presidency aligns with the momentum driven by the Idex UCA Jedi project, positioning Université Côte d’Azur as a major player in the Côte d’Azur region and an internationally recognized university, excelling in fulfilling all its missions.

The policy to be implemented will be based on four main pillars:

Strengthening the links between research, innovation, and valorization, in order to develop Université Côte d’Azur’s scientific potential, which is based on disciplinary excellence, transdisciplinarity, and innovation.

Positioning Université Côte d’Azur as a major player in the development of the Côte d’Azur region, in strong connection with the local, national, and international ecosystem.

Promoting excellence in education for students and professionals, to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to be active in resolving the complex issues of the present world.

Developing university life within the new scope of Université Côte d’Azur to improve working and living conditions on the campuses, invigorate the campus through culture and sports, (re)value the heritage, and promote all actions that enable the different actors of the university community to engage in and prosper in their work.

Jeanick Brisswalter will be surrounded by a team of vice-presidents and mission officers who will be appointed in the coming days.
