Jobs for the future: it’s stalled in Nice according to the PS06.

Patrick Allemand, First Federal Secretary of the Socialist Party, held a press conference Thursday at 4 PM at the Alpes-Maritimes PS federation. He expressed his concern about the behavior of local authorities regarding “emplois d’avenir” (future jobs) in the department.

ps06fr.jpgTwo months after the implementation of the “emplois d’avenir” law by the government, the Alpes-Maritimes department is experiencing a rather significant delay, as no agreement has been signed yet.

Out of the 1107 jobs offered in the entire department, only 48 have been signed, which is 4%. In the Var, out of 1146 contracts, 147 have been signed in the same timeframe. For Patrick Allemand, “this is a political blockage, it’s more than 1000 jobs funded by the State that are rotting.” In Valbonne, they are at 10 contracts, in Carros 3, and in Contes 2, the PS is still waiting for responses from right-wing municipalities.

To address this, the Socialist Party acts as a relay and information source so that those affected by these “emplois d’avenir” can benefit from the necessary information.

What are “emplois d’avenir”?

They concern young people aged 16 to 25 who are unemployed and without qualifications. These jobs will allow them to be hired in growing activities, social and solidarity economy companies, local authorities, or associations.

Their salary will be at least equal to the SMIC (minimum wage) and covered by the State at 75%.
