Less than a month after being crowned French Cadet Champion in Vertical Race Ski Mountaineering at Pipay-Les 7 Laux on December 19th, Justine Tonso has once again been crowned French Champion at the French Individual Cadet Ladies Ski-Mountaineering Championships in Méribel-Mottaret, last Saturday.

An exceptional title for an exceptional performance, as this young champion finished her race twenty minutes ahead of her closest competitor and achieved a better time than the French Junior Champion (one minute less).

Additionally, on the same day in Méribel, Justine Tonso also won the French Sprint Championship (cadet category). These feats have earned her a spot on the French Ski-Mountaineering Team, with which she will compete in the European Championships in Switzerland next February.

Eric Ciotti, Deputy and President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, wishes to “warmly congratulate this child from Roquebillière with an already admirable record. At just 15 years old, Justine Tonso can be proud of her trophies that reward her dedication, talent, and passion. I also want to congratulate all the other competitors, also members of the Montagne Club Vésubien, who have also delivered great performances.”
