On August 8th and 9th, 2008, starting at 8 PM at the Cimiez arenas, the 18th Nuits Des Étoiles of the Association Française d’Astronomie will take place. This year it is organized in Nice by the Aquila association with the support of the municipality.
The program includes conferences, events, a poster exhibition on astronomical topics, and observations of stars, the Moon, Jupiter, and its most visible satellites.
The key word of the Nuits des Étoiles is enjoyment. The pleasure of sharing intense moments with amateur astronomers who volunteer to animate the observation sites; the pleasure of seeing the sky become understandable. Also, the enjoyment of the celebration, which brings together all the ingredients for embarking, as a family, on this fabulous celestial journey of sky observation.
Better understanding our surroundings also means better grasping the importance of preserving our planet. This is why you should not miss this important summer event.
