Beautiful posters today for this first round of the Open Nice Côte d’Azur which will take place tomorrow starting at 11 am on the courts of Nice LTC. John Isner, Gilles Simon, Gaël Monfils will only enter the fray in the second round, which will begin on Monday.
The draw has been very kind to three French players – Kenny De Schepper, Paul-Henri Mathieu, and Paul-Henri Mathieu – who will play against opponents coming from the tough qualifying tournament that has been taking place since this morning on the Nice clay courts.
More difficult will be the task of Julien Benneteau who will have to fight hard against the always tough Argentine, Carlos Berlocq, while his compatriot Edouard Roger-Vasselin will also face a South American by playing against Colombian Alejandro Gonzalez.
Other great duels include promising Steve Johnson against Dominic Thiem, Albert Montanes versus Matthew Ebden, and the Italian Filippo Volandri who will seek an achievement against Robin Haase.
A first round that should set the tone for an amazing week of tennis on the hill of the Imperial Park.
