Nice-Premium: What is the color of your album?
Patxi: It’s a very folk album, quite tender, filled with sensitivities and energies with the guitars being strummed.
N-P: An album that can be described as autobiographical?
Patxi: Yes. Autobiographical. I reveal myself in these songs. The songs talk about romantic relationships, human relationships, the relationships we have with death, life, and time passing by.
N-P: Why?
Patxi: It’s what inspires me, what makes me want to write.
N-P: Which song should be remembered from the album?
Patxi: I don’t really see the album as a single song. It’s more of a collection of songs. It’s a life. The songs constitute stages, a journey. There might be one for every moment.
N-P: Speaking of travel, what postcard would you send to Nice-Premium?
Patxi: A postcard from New York, or Morocco, or South America.
N-P: In your album, there’s a song called “Hegalekin”.
Patxi: It’s a song about the Basque Country, my roots. It’s a song with memories, a return to oneself, a journey in the mind.

Patxi: There are guitars, lots of albums, lots of books. Literature is very important to me.
N-P: What kind of literature are you attracted to?
Patxi: Contemporary authors, American authors but also French authors, like Philippe Besson, Philippe Claudel, Laurent Gaudรฉ … and also South American authors.
N-P: Do you draw your inspiration from these books?
Patxi: Yes.
N-P: What artistic encounter has marked you the most?
Patxi: The encounters aren’t necessarily physical, they can be on stage. When I saw Bob Dylan or Noir Dรฉsir on stage, it was a revelation. They inspired me to express myself and write my songs.
N-P: Tomorrow, if you were offered to become the editor-in-chief of our newspaper for a day, what would be on the front page? In news?
Patxi: The film “Control” by Tim Hunter
N-P: In sports?
Patxi: The World Cup
N-P: In politics?
Patxi: I don’t like politics
N-P: In culture?
Patxi: A book by Philippe Besson.
