Knitting Together at the Community Social Action Center

Latest News

This afternoon at the Day Reception Center (14 avenue du XVรจme Corps), seniors will hand over winter accessories knitted by themselves to those without stable housing.

The Nice Communal Center for Social Action launched this year an intergenerational and interservice solidarity project with a fun activity aimed at serving those in need: knitting for the most disadvantaged.

Several seniors from the social connection service of the Elderly Accommodation Facility (EHPAD) at the Saint Jean d’Angรฉly residence and the “Le Village” Social Center have made winter accessories for the people in situations of great precariousness hosted at the Day Reception Center of the VXรจme Corps.

Throughout the year, during knitting workshops, around twenty seniors made hats, scarves, mittens, and socks. The wool came from donations from the France Parkinson association, private individuals, seniors participating in the workshops, the popular relief organization, and the EHPADs of the CCAS.
