LA COLLE SUR LOUP: ORTA LUCE WOMEN’S VOCAL ENSEMBLE

On April 9th, at 9 p.m., the performance “Chemins sacrés de Bingen à Compostelle” will take place at Saint-Jacques Church.

The female ensemble Orta Luce serves the vast sacred medieval repertoire, interpreting pieces from manuscripts originating from the major monasteries of Europe and offering a reading that emphasizes the purity and simplicity of the musical line.
This program takes us from the Rhenish countries to Catalonia, along the path of pilgrims heading to the abbey of Montserrat or Santiago de Compostela.
The voices of Orta Luce interpreting these sacred and festive a cappella pieces are often accompanied by bells and percussion, evoking the dances on the church forecourts and popular faith.
Orta Luce combines these medieval sacred songs with some works from the 20th century.
