On the occasion of this 75th anniversary, several events will be organized around The Little Prince to pay tribute to the timeless tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. An initial event was symbolically held in front of the #ILOVENICE sculpture with the presentation of a special stamp issue.
Antoine de Saint Exupéry (1900-1944) was both a writer, pilot, inventor, journalist, filmmaker but above all, he embodies the pioneering spirit, commitment, responsibility, and sharing.
2021 is also the 90th anniversary of the novel “Night Flight,” the writing of which was completed in Nice, at the villa “El Mirador” (Cimiez), where Antoine de Saint-Exupéry lived with his wife Consuelo, after their civil marriage at the Nice city hall on April 22, 1931.
The stamp will be available for pre-sale in Nice at the “Marché aux Fleurs” post office (2, rue Louis Gassin) starting this Friday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and throughout France starting Monday, April 12.
