Every year since April 2009, La Poste has issued a stamp series titled “La France comme jโaime,” consisting of 24 regional collectors.
The “PACA comme jโaime” collector showcases, through 10 stamps, the region’s cultural, geographical, culinary, artisanal, and heritage diversity.
The goal: to celebrate the richness of the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region.
For the 2012 edition, La Poste invites the public to participate until September 4, 2011, through a photo contest, in the creation of the new stamps that will illustrate the PACA region collector.
The 10-stamp collector will be created from the photographs provided by the contest participants.
Its commercialization by La Poste is scheduled for June 2012.
Each photograph, old or contemporary, must be particularly emblematic of the region.
It can highlight: craftsmanship, traditional or modern housing, traditions, landscapes, flora, fauna, residents through clothing styles or identity life scenes, festivals and games, gastronomic specialtiesโฆ
To participate, individuals must upload their photograph in JPEG format on the website www.laposte.fr/lafrancecommejaime.
THREE-STAGE JURIES
A regional jury will meet in each region from September 12 to 23, 2011, to select 100 photographs that will represent the region in its diversity.
From the 2,400 photos selected by the regional juries, Internet users will vote online to choose their favorite photos.
Finally, in the first half of November, from the photographs selected by Internet users, a national jury composed of La Poste representatives, professional photographers, operation partners, philately representatives, and various personalities, will select 10 photographs per region to illustrate the stamps of the collectors.
WITH PRIZES AT STAKE
In each region, the 10 winners will receive a 200โฌ gift voucher, a book of stamps from the year, and a collector featuring the winnerโs stamp.
Among the 10 winners of the region, a draw will designate a final winner (a total of 24 final winners) who will receive an invitation to the prize-giving ceremony at the Stamp Salon and win a 2-day stay in Paris for 2 people worth up to 500โฌ and a digital camera worth 130โฌ.
La Poste offers individuals the opportunity to become stamp creators and convey a part of the regional heritage.
The collector booklet will be part of the philatelic offer “La France comme jโaime,” dedicated to the regions of France.
A collection that marks La Poste’s intention to promote the territories and illustrates the strong bond between the French and their territory of origin or adoption.
