In tune with the times. Startuppers now replace postal workers in the former iconic postal sorting center located opposite the Nice-Centre SNCF train station. This is another step in transforming this district and more generally, the city of Nice, which is undergoing significant renovation.
Revamping the old is a concept that fits this new collaborative exchange space well. Around 300 workstations, private offices, meeting rooms, event spaces, showers, phone booths, and even a gym. The former Thiers postal sorting center, located in the center of Nice, has seen significant changes. A transformation initiated by Startway, a company counting La Poste as one of its shareholders. This is not their first venture, as they have just opened their 33rd coworking space.
“This will be one of the largest on the Côte d’Azur,” explains Alice Tortech, spokesperson for Startway. “Our strategy is to be present all over France. The Nice site is ideal because it is about twenty minutes from the airport and a few meters from the SNCF train station.”
Tailor-made rentals
It has been a few weeks since the Startway team in Nice began marketing the various spaces to entrepreneurs interested in setting up their activities here.
“We are having many visits,” adds Alice Tortech. “Our products are particularly suited to nomadic employees or start-up founders. Our ultra-flexible model appeals to them. With us, it is possible to rent a space by the hour, month, or even year. We don’t require our clients to commit for three, six, or nine months, as is commonly practiced elsewhere. It’s very appealing for start-ups whose number of collaborators can suddenly decrease or increase. To work here, there is no need to worry about anything else. You just need to bring your computer.”
The rates to avail of these facilities range from 5 euros per hour to 199 euros per month (excluding taxes).
