New protest today (the last of the summer?): the labor law is back in the spotlight.
Following the last day of mobilization on June 28, the CGT announced, on behalf of the seven unions behind this protest that has been ongoing since spring, a new national and general strike, the 12th.
The date coincides with the return of the Labor Law bill to the National Assembly.
The labor law remains unacceptable for the CGT, which opposes it and demands the suspension of parliamentary debates and the removal of the articles that are its backbone.
Nearly 500 amendments need to be submitted, including one co-signed by 123 deputies (including some “Hollandais”) to prevent a reduction in overtime pay.
The famous article 2 is expected to remain unchanged.
Admittedly, we are forcing ourselves to keep our eyes open in front of this endless saga.
