Ladislas Polski is running for the mayoralty of La Trinité in the upcoming 2014 municipal elections. Introduction to a young politician with strong ideas

ladislas-polski-representera-le-mrc-et-le-ps-117055.jpg At 36, this true Niçois says, “I was born in Nice. My great-grandfather came to the city in the 1930s and my family is very established in the hills.” He positions himself as the worthy representative of Jean-Pierre Chevènement in the Alpes-Maritimes. However, his love for politics took time to develop: “I studied medicine. Politics was not a priority at university.” At the end of his academic career, Ladislas Polski quickly found alignment with the ideas of the former senator of the Territoire de Belfort during the 2002 presidential election: “I followed his vision of the republican principle and his critique of the Socialist Party’s liberal viewpoint.”

His political commitment was then initiated. After distributing leaflets in support of the representative of the Citizens’ Movement, which became a year later, the MRC (Republican and Citizen Movement), he campaigned for the “no” vote in the European Constitutional Treaty and thus followed the party’s guiding line. In 2008, he fully identified with Ségolène Royal: “She is an interesting person who has adopted the ideas of Jean-Pierre Chevènement, including secularism and the defense of the Revolution’s foundations.” For him, it was also a great opportunity to connect with Socialist elected officials.

Elected regional councilor on the list led by Michel Vauzelle in 2010, he used his skills to serve the redevelopment of the territory and access to care with the Regional Health Houses project. A first example? Supporting the Mayor of Roquebillière in opening one in the community.

The Objective: La Trinité

The town of the first deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes, Jean-Dominique Blanqui (1792), La Trinité becomes his workplace: “I set up my medical practice in La Trinité in 2008. Today, there are no more factories and we have waste disposal sites, including the largest. It has become a catch-all.”

Considered by the elected official as a strategic position within the metropolis, he absolutely wants to change this image: “La Trinité has a certain quality of life, there are important stakes. It is necessary to reintroduce the economic development of businesses and encourage innovation, research, and give the city a new lease of life.”

Make no mistake, Ladislas Polski does not want to pursue a career plan. Politics is mainly a pleasure for him: “I enjoy being a local elected official and making sure my actions are meaningful. I engage in politics to change mentalities because those who are in charge are moving away from the republican interest.”

Next objective: Winning the 2014 municipal elections. Ladislas Polski believes that, even if the task is arduous, it is possible. In any case, he will do everything to succeed.
