On Saturday, August 30, 2014, nearly 200 Carrefour hypermarkets, in partnership with Restos du Cœur, are organizing a large collection of school supplies. Volunteers from the association will be present at the entrance of the Nice TNL, Nice Lingostière, and Antibes stores to collect the essential supplies for a successful school year.
Restos du Cœur, supported by volunteers from Carrefour, will provide customers with a list of the most useful items: large and small notebooks, sheets and double-sided pages for binders, rigid and flexible binders, rolls of plastic for book covers, ballpoint pens, pencils, pencil cases, erasers, glue, etc.
Donations will be collected at the checkout and transported to the association’s local branch to then be made available to the most disadvantaged families.
During the 2013 collection, Carrefour was able to distribute 57 tons of supplies to the association thanks to the mobilization of Carrefour and Carrefour Market store customers. And this year again, Carrefour plans to enhance the collection results with an additional €40,000.
Carrefour has been a partner of Restos du Cœur since 2009 and actively participates in the major annual food collections in March. The brand also organizes donations of food items from its hypermarkets for the benefit of Restos du Cœur’s local branches.
Nearly 2000 tons of food were collected during the major Restos du Cœur collection last March 7 and 8.
