The images from Las Vegas (especially the sound and the length of the bursts) are terrifying.
As for the rest, the worst shooting in US history (at least 58 dead and 500 injured by the bullets of a gun-obsessed retiree shooting at the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Four Seasons in Las Vegas) once again forces us to repeat and despair over the same figures: there are 265 million firearms in the US, which is 1.1 per citizen over 18 years old.
Since the assassination of Bobby Kennedy in 1968, firearms have claimed more than 1.5 million victims in the US. That’s more than all the wars fought by the country since 1775 (1,171,200 deaths).
What else?
