The City of Nice and the Mon Cartable Connectรฉ Collective signed a letter of intent this Friday aimed at proposing a pilot educational cycle in Nice starting in May. This cycle is designed to raise awareness among young residents of Nice about children hospitalized and the digital challenges in the fight against cancer.
Marc Lavoine and Raymond Domenech, Vice-Presidents of this association, were present.
Starting next May, the 27 Delvalle will host a series of three sessions led by the educational coordinators of the Mon Cartable Connectรฉ program.
These sessions, focused on connected health and hospitalized children, aim to raise awareness among young residents of Nice about the issues of demystifying diseases, and promoting tolerance and respect for people with disabilities and/or facing severe conditions like cancer. This pilot cycle is being hosted in Nice, as per Christian Estrosi’s wishes, and is supported by the Ministry of National Education.
This cycle further advances the effort to support hospitalized children, initiated with the implementation of the Mon Cartable Connectรฉ system in Nice. Tested since 2016, Mon Cartable Connectรฉ allows hospitalized children, particularly those affected by cancer, to continue attending their courses, to maintain a connection with their school, and to take a step toward recovery.
In France, nearly 2 million children are hospitalized each year. Regardless of the length of their stay, hospitalization separates them from their school, class, and peers. Thanks to the Cartable Connectรฉ made available to them, children can maintain their connection with their class, peers, and teacher and continue their courses. This is a decisive factor in preventing the break in the child’s social life and promoting recovery.
