From August 24 to November 12, 2011, activities are organized daily by the League for the Protection of Birds at Fort de la Revère, to observe the diversity of species during this intense migratory period.
Perched at an altitude of 675 meters, between sea and mountains, Fort de la Revère is one of the most interesting sites for observing birdlife. Birds of prey, pigeons, passerines, as well as European bee-eaters and swifts, stop there. In the fall of 2010, 129,979 migratory birds were counted there.
Since 2001, nearly 19,000 people have attended this fascinating spectacle.
The General Council has partnered with the League for the Protection of Birds to publish a report on these 10 years of migration monitoring at Fort de la Revère.
Let us recall that in 2011, the Department contributed €36,260 to the activities of the League for the Protection of Birds.
