Yesterday at Antoine Risso College, the young departmental councilors (CDJ) “launched the #JYTOUCHEPAS campaign” on addictive behaviors. This communication campaign has just been made official.
Addictions, such as cannabis and alcohol, affect all demographics. Young people are often concerned as they are particularly vulnerable to the phenomenon. Prevention and the fight against these addictions among young people remain essential health and social issues, even if consumption is declining, because the results are still fragile. Since adolescents’ behaviors vary greatly and are subject to trends, action must be taken. But who better than middle school students to raise awareness among other middle school students?
Engaged students, true ambassadors of democracy and citizenship
27 young middle school students, elected within their institution for a two-academic-year term, have been working for nearly two years on designing a communication and prevention campaign. Targeted at adolescents in the department, this concept focuses both on the risks involved, particularly for health, and on the appropriate behaviors to adopt when faced with such phenomena, to avoid or limit the consequences among adolescents.
Awareness spots for television and radio have been recorded, and will be broadcast in the coming days.
