Launch of the European project CITYOPT for optimal energy management

Latest News

The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, EDF, and CSTB (Scientific and Technical Center for Building) are joining forces with European partners (Finnish, Austrian, and Italian) to launch a project aimed at optimizing energy consumption: the CITYOPTยฐ project.

CITYOPT aims to develop a set of applications and recommendations to support the design and management of energy systems in neighborhoods and cities.

The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis is increasingly positioning itself within the circle of interconnected, intelligent, and sustainable territories of the 21st century, and is working to become one of the global leaders in digital projects applied to territories.

Volunteer families from the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis territory are invited to actively participate in this European project.

Modeled after the Nice Grid project in Carros, these families will be able not only to contribute to the management of the production/consumption balance of the electrical networks of their homes by agreeing to reduce their energy consumption but also to lay the foundation for a true social network of energy. This innovation will allow them to quickly see the impact of their eco-friendly actions on the scale of their neighborhood.

The CITYOPT project aims to develop new control technologies and decision-making aids for optimal energy management in neighborhoods and cities. It is part of a broader European strategy on the development of “smart cities,” the intelligent cities of tomorrow.
