I’M MOVING… OBJECTIVE OPEN DE TENNIS NICE COTE D’AZUR 2011 aims primarily to enable socially and professionally active women and men to participate in the VIP Open Tennis Tournament Nice Côte d’Azur 2011. To involve the residents of the City of Nice in enhancing their community, this sports challenge is addressed to women and men who, due to lack of time and support, do not always have the opportunity to engage in physical activity under the best conditions.
I’M MOVING… OBJECTIVE OPEN DE TENNIS NICE COTE D’AZUR proposes these women and men to train regularly under the guidance of Christophe PINNA. It offers the opportunity to surpass oneself, experience an exceptional event from the inside, and share the players’ emotions.
THE OPEN NICE COTE D’AZUR
L’OPEN DE TENNIS NICE COTE D’AZUR 2011 will take place from May 15 to May 21, 2011.
The ATP tournament will be held on the grounds of the Nice Lawn Tennis Club.
PARTICIPATION
The selection will take place in two phases:
Initially, 40 women and men will be selected based on their motivation, from the application forms.
In the second phase, during training sessions, a system of evaluation-elimination will be put in place by Christophe PINNA to establish a maximum of 8 doubles, that is 16 players, who will participate in the VIP Open Tennis Nice Côte d’Azur 2011. The personalities are included in the 16 players.
The remaining participants will be drawn to form a team with a personality. In case the number of personalities is smaller than the number of participants, teams will be made up solely of candidates.
The participation criteria are as follows:
reside in Nice
be aged 18 to 65
have a maximum ranking of 30/1 on the day of registration
never have been ranked in the second series
commit to being present at all training sessions
commit to being present during the tournament
commit to being present for the final, if applicable
Participation is free, and entails full acceptance of the provisions of these rules. Failure to comply with the conditions will render the participation null.
PARTICIPATION PROCEDURES
Registration will be done exclusively via the website of the city of Nice, www.nice.fr until Friday, January 21, at 3:45 PM. Any registration received after the mentioned date and time will not be valid. Selected candidates will be informed by email.
Selected candidates must provide a photo and a medical certificate less than a year old, stating no contraindication to the practice of tennis in competition, at the first training session.
Participants must have all their tennis equipment (clothing, clay-court tennis shoes, racket…). The balls will be provided by the Nice L.T.C. club.
EVENT COORDINATION
Four gatherings are planned in total, in addition to the VIP Open Tennis. The training sessions are scheduled for Sundays to ensure more availability for participants and tennis courts. 5 tennis courts are necessary and will be provided by the Nice L.T.C.
Training sessions will always conclude with a light snack.
Sessions will include general physical preparation, specific physical preparation, exercises on technical gestures, themes, technical tests, dietary advice, etc.
By the end of the training period (February/May), 8 candidates will be selected to participate in the VIP Open Tennis Nice Côte d’Azur 2011.
The team selection will be done by drawing lots. If the number of invited personalities is less than the number of candidates, teams without personalities will be formed.
Regardless of their results, candidates will receive invitations to watch the Tennis Open on the day of their participation.
REGULATION OF THE VIP OPEN TENNIS NICE COTE D’AZUR 2011
The regulations are designed to consider the fun aspect but also to control the game time.
8 doubles teams, meaning 16 players
The matches are played in 1 set (6 games) to win.
The Tie Break is at 5/5
No-Ad at 40 A. This means there is no advantage/deuce, players play the deciding point.
