The prevention campaign against violence in sports is being launched at the Ray stadium, in the presence of Anthony Borré.
The sports environment is increasingly a victim of violence within itself. The number of incidents of misconduct around stadiums during sporting events has skyrocketed and affects absolutely all types of sports, at all ages, and at all levels. In response, the city of Nice has chosen not to remain inactive and to carry out an awareness campaign.
This campaign, primarily targeting the parents of young members of football clubs participating in competitions and championships organized in Nice, will allow for a reminder of the proper behavior around football fields in order to limit violence in sport and to encourage young athletes.
The Importance of Respect
During the launch, Anthony Borré, the deputy mayor, delivered a speech to educate the children present on the appropriate behavior to adopt. The goal of this campaign is therefore to promote fair values, with the main values being learning to lose and learning to win.
Sport should not be seen as a pursuit of victory at the expense of others. It is important to keep in mind the importance of respect for opponents and for teammates. The plaque that was unveiled will be placed in all sports clubs to remind everyone of these crucial values.
