The construction of the Nice One shopping center has officially begun, with the laying of the first stone near the Allianz Riviera.
This launch took place in the presence of Christian Estrosi, deputy mayor of Nice, Éric Ciotti, deputy and president of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, Guillaume Lucas from the Vinci Immobilier group, as well as Jean Bessis, investor in Nice One. Other personalities such as Jean-Pierre Rivère, president of OGC Nice, were also present.
The ceremony first featured speeches from each of the men on stage. While Guillaume Lucas spoke about a project “which began with the construction of the Allianz Riviera,” he also explained that “Vinci wishes to continue its partnership with the City of Nice.”
Both Éric Ciotti and Christian Estrosi emphasized that this project is part of the development of the eco-valley of the Var plain, alongside the construction works of tramway line 2 and the upcoming central station. For the president of the General Council, this project “embodies the future.”
As the Mayor of Nice reminded, around 1,200 jobs have been created since 2010. The Nice One shopping center will continue in this vein with nearly 500 additional positions on the site. The complex will host renowned brands such as Leclerc and Ubaldi. The opening is scheduled for the end of 2015.
