The association “Friends of Lacassagne” is organizing a charity concert with the gracious participation of the vocal ensemble Corou de Berra, to which saxophonist David Amar lends his sounds to perform an eclectic program embracing a selection of works from the repertoires of mostly anonymous composers, discovered and reworked by Michel BIANCO, the group’s initiator and guide since its inception.
This concert will have a very special character as a tribute will be paid to Pascal Ferret, a member of the Corou de Berra group who recently and suddenly passed away. This formation will exceptionally include six choristers.
While exploring the hinterlands for over ten years in search of ancient manuscripts, Michel BIANCO acknowledged that while he could easily hum a few refrains, it was not the same for the verses. Surrounded by a few companions, he set about gathering this heritage, and together they soon crossed a new milestone by founding Corou de Berra.
In less than three decades, the group, perched on an eagle’s nest a stone’s throw from the Bay of Angels, has conquered every step of fame, driven by a single ambition: to sing about our Villages and Valleys, positioning itself as an ambassador of our Culture far beyond our land.
Today its reputation has spread across Europe and conquered numerous countries worldwide. Firmly established in its planetary attire, Corou de Berra elevates the polyphonic singing of the Southern Alps, which it considers a unique patrimonial treasure that is proud, contemporary, and authentic.
