This Sunday, OGC Nice visits Le Havre’s pitch for the 3rd day of Ligue 1 2025/26. After their first win of the season last weekend, the Gym wants to continue this momentum and build their first positive dynamic of the season. All the pre-match information about this encounter can be found here.
OGC Nice wants to keep the momentum! After their first victory of the season last weekend against Auxerre (3-1), the Gym follows up with their first away game this weekend. The direction is Normandy for Morgan Sanson’s teammates, who are heading to Le Havre (kick-off of the match this Sunday at 5:15 PM at the Stade Océane). Franck Haise’s players want to secure a second consecutive win before the first international break of the season.
On the squad side, there will be more changes among the Eaglets. Already present against AJ Auxerre for his grand debut, Kevin Carlos is expected to be retained at the spearhead of the red and black attack. Even though he didn’t score against the AJA, the Spanish striker showcased his physical power and fighting spirit, never easing off his efforts. Finally, OGC Nice lost Pablo Rosario this week. Touted as a likely departure since the start of summer, the midfielder has joined FC Porto, a future opponent of the Gym in the Europa League.
Finally some returns?
“Jonathan Clauss, Morgan Sanson, and Dante might be there on Sunday.” In a press conference, Franck Haise expressed optimism regarding these three players. The first missed the match against Auxerre, being on the brink of departure. However, he will ultimately stay in Nice after his transfer to Leverkusen fell through. Injured during the first-leg match against Benfica, Sanson (hamstring) and Dante (knee) have resumed training. Both players might contend for a spot in the Azurons group. Three very welcome reinforcements for OGC Nice!
Elsewhere, Tanguy Ndombele, Moïse Bombito, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Mohamed-Ali Cho, and Ali Abdi remain sidelined. These players continue their recovery but are not able to participate in this match. “His groin issue is behind him. But he is far from being in a condition to apply for a spot in the group,” confirms Franck Haise, especially regarding Ndombele.
On the opposing side, the start of the season has been challenging for HAC. Didier Digard’s men suffered two defeats in as many matches, against Monaco (1-3), and then against Lens (1-2). With the smallest budget in Ligue 1, Le Havre will have to fight to the end to secure their stay, as was the case last year when the Normans were saved in the last minutes of the last day of the championship. Injured in the tendon, Thomas Delaine is out for this match.
Probable lineups:
Le Havre: Diaw – Doucouré, Nego, Sangante (C), Lloris, Zouaoui – Kechta, Touré, Ndiaye – Soumaré, Samatta
Nice: Diouf – Mendy, Bah, Oppong – Clauss (or Louchet), Boudaoui, Abdul Samed, Bard (C) – Jansson, Carlos, Boga.
