On the occasion of the release of their sixth album, “A Matter of Time,” Peuple de l’Herbe meets us at the Théâtre Lino Ventura on Thursday, February 9 at 8:00 PM.
In a concert combining hip hop, funk, dub, and rock, the Lyon-based group takes us on a journey through their 14 years of musical experience.
The sound of Peuple de l’Herbe is recognizable within two measures, regardless of the genre the band explores. Powerful and regular rotations, punctuated by precisely measured breaks, slightly displacing the narrative—just enough for the created imbalance to unsettle, but without disrupting momentum, vintage sounds and brass, samples drawn from the most diverse sources, merging together to convey a sense of obviousness—a seemingly simple formula, of which Peuple is the sole custodian.
