This year, LPO celebrates its 100th anniversary: a century of actions for nature.
The League for the Protection of Birds was created in 1912 to put an end to the slaughter of puffins, guillemots, and little auks in Brittany. A handful of nature enthusiasts mobilized to ban these cruel killings, and the Sept Iles Archipelago became the first bird sanctuary in France.
Since its creation, LPO has been actively involved in the preservation of biodiversity, focusing on bird protection. It is now the leading biodiversity protection association in France.
On Friday, March 9, Maison de l’Environnement invites you to the screening of Allain Bougrain Dubourg’s beautiful film “A Century for Birds,” recounting 100 years of LPO’s actions.
