The site of the old casinos of the Jetée-Promenade has been the subject of underwater archaeological operations since 2015, conducted by the Archaeology Department of Nice Côte d’Azur. These operations, as well as the studies carried out in archives and on the archaeological materials collected during the four campaigns, provide new insights into these major establishments of the contemporary Nice period.
Stéphane MORABITO, underwater archaeologist, Alain GRANDIEUX, ceramic specialist archaeologist, and Jean-Paul POTRON, head of the Research and Inventory division (City of Nice – Department of Historical Heritage, Archaeology, and Archives), will discuss the history and archaeology of the Jetée-Promenade Casino.
