This week, Didier van Cauwelaert will be speaking in the schools of the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, as well as at the Francis-Gag Theatre during a citizens’/literary café around his books Jules & The Return of Jules published by Albin Michel.
A novelist and playwright, Didier van Cauwelaert has received, among others, the Goncourt Prize for Un aller simple, the Marcel Pagnol Prize and the Nice-Baie des Anges Prize for Le Père adopté, the Molière Award for Best Musical for Le Passe-Muraille, and the French Academy’s Theater Prize.
As a screenwriter, he is credited with, among others in cinema: La Maison assassinée, Triplex, and Les Amies de ma femme, which he directed. On television: Père Noël et Fils (France 3), Le Président et la garde-barrière (France 2), Ils veulent cloner le Christ (Canal +), Services Sacrés (TF1), Vous êtes mon sujet (France 2). In 2011, his novel Hors de moi was adapted in Hollywood under the title Unknown, starring Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger.
On September 12, the film adaptation of his novel J’ai perdu Albert will be released, a comedy he directed with Stéphane Plaza, Julie Ferrier, Josiane Balasko, Bernard Le Coq, Virginie Visconti, and others.
